Now that day one is over, who is still left?
The Minnesota Wild was able to stockpile its cupboard with prospects, including Jonas Brodin, Zack Phillips and Charlie Coyle.
Without a second rounder this year, they will have to wait for a bit till they get a chance to pick. But, who to pick? Lets find out.
Boone Jenner
A good, safe pick. He is projected to become a good 3rd liner in the NHL, but some wonder if he has more than that in his tank. He did score 66 points in 63 games, and that isn't easy to do. Plays a solid overall game and has tons of character and leadership. Would be a great pick for the Wild, if they can get him.
Mario Lucia
You want your Minnesotan? Well, Lucia is the highest ranked Minnesota in the draft and everyone Gophers fan know the name Lucia. Extremely raw and lanky, Lucia is talented but will need a few years bulking up. If you are looking for a home-run pick, Lucia is the one.
Markus Granlund
Last name says it all. I know its ridiculous to draft a player just because he is the brother but Granlund would be a solid pick third round or later. Doesn't hurt that is gives incentive to Mikael Granlund in addition.
Tomas Jurco
Newly acquired draft pick Zack Phillips will love to see the Wild take the talented Tomas Jurco. Extremely skilled with the puck, some worry if he can improve his consistency and his overall two-way play. But if he was still available in the third round, it would be hard to pass on such talent.
Rocco Grimaldi
He's tiny but he has tons of talent. With a third round pick, I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on an prospect that has top six forward upside. He may be small but what the heck, lets get the home-run.
