Hello again, Wilderness!
How's everyone's day been so far?
Mine will be great once my classes are done for the day so I can look forward to the Wild's game tonight against the Capitals.
This will for sure be a big test for the Wild, as the Caps have stars like Ovechkin, Backstrom, Ward, you get the idea. Basically, the Wild will really need to be on their toes tonight against a tough team like this.
Ranting aside, let's get to the meat of what I'm here to talk about.
The number I chose for today, 13, is the total number of goals the Wild have scored over these last 3 games on this winning streak (and I was there to witness that HUGE win against the Flames!). What this means is that our offensive lines have finally broken out of their shells and have been pushing pucks towards the net until they could go in for goals.
And man, has that paid off.
Over these last 3 games, the number of goals that the Wild netted were 4 (in their games against the Canadiens and Devils), and 5 (against the Flames).
Since the beginning of this season, all of our offensive lines have worked their tails off to try to score goals. Now, they are finally being rewarded.
It's this amazing work that made Jason Pominville NHL's first star of the week, and man did he deserve it.
With one month of the season down, I think it's pretty safe to say that I've been really impressed with how the Wild have been doing so far. If they can keep this play up, I could see them going deep in the playoffs this year. That's still months away, but it's not too far-fetched to be thinking about that now.
What are your thoughts about our offensive lines thus far?
