How about that bounce-back win for the Wild last night!
Despite giving up 3 goals to the Hawks, they came from behind for a HUGE win against the division, conference, and league leading Blackhawks. I fully agree with Yeo saying that this game was the best 57 minutes of hockey they have played this whole season. Good stuff.
Today's number is once again about the power play. That number above is their current percentage, 20.2 (T-8 with Columbus, who we play tonight).
Before last night, the Wild didn't have too much success on the power play as they couldn't capitalize on it and had a hard time creating chances.
That all changed last night, as our power play units were able to cash in on 2 out of their 3 power play chances. Nice to see that again since the last time the Wild had a game with multiple power play goals was back in the first month of the season.
The Wild must have finally found their magic with the power play again as those 2 power play goals that were scored last night (by Parise and Brodin) consisted of half of the scoring they did in their 4-3 win over the mighty Blackhawks.
If the Wild could keep up this consistency in their power play, they could potentially have higher scoring games if they can work through the opposition's penalty killing units to cash in on these man-advantage opportunities.
What are your thoughts, Wilderness?
