Hello, Wilderness!
How's celebrating that 2-0 shutout win over the Flyers last been going?
For me it's been going great since I was there to witness it last night!
Today's number is a simple one, and that is the number of shutouts the Wild's secondary (now seeming like primary) goaltender, Josh Harding now has, 3.
2 other goalies in the NHL, Marc-Andre Fleury, and Ben Scrivens, are also tied with him in this respect.
Harding without a doubt has been the success story for the Wild as well as the NHL so far this season.
After both of the times Backstrom has gone out on injuries, Harding has stepped in for him and played very well. With this surprisingly great play, it almost seems like Harding could very well take over Backstrom's spot as starting goalie for the Wild.
Once Backstrom can finally be back to 100% again, him and Harding could be a dangerous duo for this Wild team.
Heck, the save that Harding made last night whilst the Flyers were on a power play was beyond amazing and it earned a spot for a candidate for the save of the year. Take another look at it here:
You just can't deny that this save is a worthy candidate for save of the year. Absolutely mind-blowing.
Needless to say, Harding is off to one of his best seasons of his career right now and there's no denying it. Harding really knows how to pounce all over that puck and make incredible stops when he needs to.
I think I smell a worthy Vezina trophy candidate...
