  • NHL suspends Mattias Ohlund for Mikko Koivu slash

    Guest

The NHL has handed down a four game suspension to Canucks defenseman Mattias Ohlund for the slash on Mikko Koivu in Vancouver on Friday night. The suspension will cost Ohlund about $75,000 and will insure he doesn’t play the Wild again on Wednesday night at the Xcel Energy Center.  Mikko Koivu will also be missing from the line-up as he is expected to be out for at least a week with a cracked left fibula. The Canucks and the Wild have a long history of bad blood and this incident will not be the last. I will be at the Xcel on Wednesday night to see the two teams battle on our home pond. I expect Boogaard to throw a few punches.  Want wild tickets to the big show down? Check out www.minnesotawildtickets.com but you better buy them soon, they are disappearing fast.
