NHL Lockout: Lockout Devices - Mul-T-Lock MT5

Continuing our look at the NHL lockout, and specifically those devices which can be used for locking the players out of NHL buildings, we jump from one end of the spectrum to the other. Last week, we looked at one of the least effective ways to lock people out of, well, pretty much anything. The Master Lock 1500D barely registers as a lock, being easily defeated by a small child with too much time on their hands.

This week, we turn to Mul-T-Lock, a manufacturer of high end locks that are considered some of the most difficult in the world to defeat. We here at Hockey Wilderness aren't about to skimp when it comes to locking players out, so we aren't going with just any Mul-T-Lock product, we go with the high end of their product line, the MT5.

How to Defeat This Lockout Device

The MT5 is cutting edge technology. If you want to defeat this lock, you may want to find the nearest window, bust it, and climb in that way. That, or call your nearest fire department to bring their "jaws of life" device to rip the door off the building. You aren't going to beat this lock.

There are few locks in the world better than this one. For that reason, the MT5 gets a massive 9.5 Bettmans out a possible 10 Bettmans.

Hockey Wilderness Recommendation for Player Lockout

If you're going to lock players of of high class, mostly publicly funded buildings, why not use the lock that super secret agencies of the government use? These locks are used in places that people need to keep secrets secret and lives could be on the line. Where the MT5 is in place, you may also expect to see a Marine with a large gun of some kind also defending that door. It would be difficult to find a lock that is better, short of needing two matching keys turned at the same time and a Presidential order, with double confirmation, to use them.

Go ahead, owners, spring for the good stuff. We wouldn't want the players sneaking in.
