  • Minnesota Wild vs. Colorado Avalanche: Game Preview


    The Wild and the Avalanche will be playing the second game of a home-and-home series. After losing three games in a row, the Wild are attempting to right the ship after last night's heart breaking (3-1) loss. This will also be the second game of a five game season series.

    Following last night's game, Wild forward Zach Parise had to say, "We turn it over, we turn away from everybody, we make it pretty easy for them."

    Av's are on hot streak: Colorado is playing well, and have won three of their last four games. The Av's are currently sitting in third place of the Central Division.

    Wild have cooled off: The Minnesota Wild have lost the last three games and four-of-six coming into tonight's game. The Wild are currently in fourth place in the Central Division.

    Colorado Avalanche: Coming into today's game, Colorado is scoring 3.04 goals a game, and giving up 2.08 goals per game. Colorado is ranked 16th (18.1) on the power play, and ranked 13th (83.6) on the penalty kill.

    Who's not hot for Minnesota: Jason Pominville who has scored (0g-1a-1pts) and a minus (-6) last five games. Matt Cooke (0g-0a-0 pts) and a minus (-3) last five games.

    Power Outage: The Minnesota Wild have scored two goals in the last three games. The Wild need to find goal scoring from someone quick. The Wild had a five-minute major power play tonight and put one shot on net.

    Minus one: Forward Mike Rupp has left the team for personal reasons. Per Michael Russo, Rupp is heading home because of a death in his family. He should return to the Wild in a few days.
