To put the nail in the coffin, Henrik and Daniel Sedin once again showed why they are amongst the NHL's best at cycling the puck. The twins made the Wild their playthings on Burrows' second goal.
If tonight was a night to show off Kim Johnsson, Marc-Andre Bergeron, Martin Skoula and Stephane Veilleux, the failed miserably. Those four had a lot of ice-time, but were seemingly invisible. Let's hope they've made their marks on NHL general managers prior to tonight.
We'll see you in the morning for the Hockey Wilderness Trade Deadline open thread.
Hockey Wilderness Three Stars
Questions to Answer
Will the old men last the entire game? Nolan had a couple decent plays early, but vanished late. Brunette was absent early, but looked better as the Wild pressured at the very end.
Will Burrows get Clutterbucked? Burrows is absolutely on fire lately, and his new contract may move him out of being a pest, so no.
Does tonight's game get the Wild back in the playoff hunt, or push them closer to selling time? If anything, I'd say that this was another night where the Wild looked like they had given up.
