Chase Lang is a solid RW/C from Nanaimo, BC, Canada. He is 6'1 and weighs 187 pounds. Lang was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in 2014 in the 6th round 167th overall. in his 244 games played in the WHL split between the Calgary Hitmen and Vancouver Giants Lang scored 66 goals and 89 assists for 155 points in the regular season; in 21 postseason games, he scored 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points.
Lang is considered a two-way center that plays with energy. He's a good penalty killer but as most kids he needs to keep filling out and getting stronger, which he'll have an opportunity to do starting next season in Iowa.
With the signing of Lang, it's pointed out by Michael Russo of the StarTribune that Reid Duke could be traded if the Wild don't get him under contract soon. In fact, they have until June 1st to sign Duke who is playing in the Memorial Cup for WHL champion Brandon Wheat Kings.
Duke, a 2014 6th rounder, ranked 6th in the WHL playoffs with 24 points in 21 games. He tied for 23rd in the league during the regular season with 33 goals.
