  • Minnesota Wild prospect Adam Beckman invited to Team Canada’s summer development camp

The Minnesota Wild haven’t had many prospects representing Canada at the World Juniors in recent years, but that could change soon.

Adam Beckman, one of the top prospects in Minnesota’s pipeline, has been invited to Hockey Canada’s summer development camp, giving him a legitimate shot at playing a role for the Canadians in the winter tournament.

Minnesota selected Beckman in the third round (No. 75 overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. After averaging close to a point per game for the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League in 2018-19, Beckman went berserk in his draft-plus-one season, posting a WHL-leading 48 goals and 107 total point in 63 games.

Back in November, Corey Pronman of The Athletic singled out Beckman as one of the biggest risers of the 2019 draft class.

The Wild signed Beckman to a three-year, entry-level contract in March, so expect to see him playing for the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League fairly soon. As long as he continues to develop at the rate he has, Beckman could turn out to be a heck of a find for the Wild.
