The Wild pulled off another victory Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center beating the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2. My new favorite line, Bouchard – Belanger – Rolston once again showed off how well they have meshed on this team. Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored the first goal (50th of his career, I did see one fan with a 50 sign – I thought it was a birthday sign until the announcers made note of Bouchards milestone).Eric Belanger (this Minnesotan would pronounce that Bell an Jer, but HE pronounces it Bell on Jay) showed why he was added to an already strong Minnesota Wild roster by scoring the tying goal and registering an assist in the victory. Brent Burns scored the game-winner that capped a third period comeback. Brian Rolston had three assists, giving him a helper on every Wild goal scored this season. Rolston has really stepped into the limelight of the Wild team and he deserves all of the recognition – He proudly wears the "A" all season long, but sometimes I think he should wear the "C".
Niklas Backstrom once again played like an all-star in the third period. I just feel good about having him between the pipes. He puts up a force field that is tough to break. This is going to be a GREAT Minnesota Wild season!
