The Minnesota Wild beat the Mighty Ducks in Anaheim tonight 2-5. Head coach Jacques Lemaire had recently criticized the Wild for their low scoring habits and the Wild responded with 5 big goals. Thursday practice was cut short due to a stomach flu breakout that hit Marian Gaborik, Nick Schultz, James Sheppard, Eric Belanger and Aaron Voros, but the team was ready for the Ducks on Friday night and played exceptionally well on power play, scoring four goals capitalizing on the man advantage.
Scoring for the Wild were Aaron Voros, Marian Gaborik, Eric Belanger, Brian Rolston and Brent Burns. The game wasn’t on TV so I didn’t get a chance to almost feel bad for the Ducks goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere who got pulled in the second. The Wild needed the win and can go into Los Angeles with a little momentum in their skates.
