With the regular season two days away, the Minnesota Wild announced their opening night roster for the 2017-18 season.
There are no real surprises to the roster, as everyone on there (for now at least) was expected to be on it.
Here is the full roster:
Forwards
Charlie Coyle, Matt Cullen, Mikko Koivu, Chris Stewart, Zach Parise, Eric Staal, Joel Eriksson Ek, Jason Zucker, Marcus Foligno, Nino Niederreiter, Tyler Ennis and Mikael Granlund
Defensemen
Mike Reilly, Ryan Suter, Gustav Olofsson, Matt Dumba, Jonas Brodin, Kyle Quincey and Jared Spurgeon
Goaltenders
Alex Stalock and Devan Dubnyk
Parise is expected to miss the first two games of the season as he is battling his way back from a back injury. He is hopeful to play next week, as the Wild did not put him on Injured Reserve (IR). The team also remains in the running to sign Daniel Winnik, who took part in the preseason with the team on a PTO (professional tryout). Per Michael Russo, Winnik hopes to sign with the team later today.
Minnesota opens the regular season on Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings at brand-new Little Caesars Arena. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
