The Minnesota Wild Thursday claimed tough-guy forward Todd Fedoruk off waivers. Fedoruk, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound winger, had two assists and 33 penalty minutes in 11 games with Dallas this season. The Stars tried to trade him, he said, then waived him Monday before recalling him again on Wednesday. The Wild got him on re-entry waivers.
Last year Fedoruk played with Anaheim Ducks and Minnesota Wild fans probably remember a fight between him and Derek Boogaard that the Boogeyman clearly won. Boogaard hasn’t been enough for the Wild this year and the Wild signed Fedoruk to be Boogaards partner in crime.
The Wild usually rely on a finesse highly skilled style game, but with the three skill boys Pavol Demitra , Wes Walz and Mikko Koivu out and Mr. finesse himself, Marian Gaborik, not at 100%, the Wild have been lacking in talent and where there is no talent, you need brawn so Welcome to Minnesota Todd Fedoruk! Welcome to the state of hockey!
