The Wild made a move today, trading winger Ryan Hamilton for winger Robbie Earl. Now, many of you may know Robbie from his time at the University of Wisconsin. What you may not recognize is the sight of him standing upright. You see, Earl has a tendency to ... embellish. Ok, as a Badger he was the worst diver on the planet since Foppa was flopping in Denver.
So, with that endorsement from Lynn, we'll give the dirty Badger the benefit of the doubt and assume that his diving days are behind him.
Earl, 23, notched 10 points (2 goals and 8 assists) and 28 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Marlies this season. The 6-foot, 195-pound native of Chicago, Illinois made his NHL debut with the Maples Leafs last season recording one assist in nine games.
Earl will report to the Houston Aeros immediately and will likely see the ice with the Aeros after the All-Star Break.
