  • Minnesota Wild 2012 Season Grades: Mike Lundin

    Guest

Brought in to be a veteran presence on the blue line for a team desperate for defensive help, Lundin came in injured, got healthy (we assume), was terrible then got hurt again then got healthy again (maybe) and couldn't crack the lineup. Frankly, it was a lost season for a guy who was supposed to be part of the new blood needed to bring about a cultural shift in St. Paul.

Needless to say, it's unlikely Mr. Lundin will be returning next season.

Nathan - Nope, not all Minnesotans who end up as members of the Minnesota Wild find the homecoming to be a successful one. Lundin is the worst "one of us", whether the blame lays at his feet or not, it just didn't work.

    Grade: F

    Bryan - I'm sorry. Who?

Jesse - YAWN!!!! I'm sure Lundin can do some things well, but damn, what an less-than-mediocre player. I officially blame Lundin for the rest of the NHL still calling the Wild boring.

JS - Well, that was a million bucks down the toilet. Granted, he was acquired as a depth defenseman and it was viewed as a shrewd deal by CF, but missing 44 games due to injury and 17 more as a scratch, combined with generally unimpressive play forces me to fail him for this season, harsh as it may seem. I don't expect him to be back next season.

    Grade: F
