    Game 9

The Breck School Mustangs vs. The St. Thomas Academy Cadets

    Start Time - 11:00 AM

Both teams cruised to victory by a score of 7-0, but this matchup will not be so either for either team. The Cadets will have to find a way to slow down the potent offense of the Mustangs. Breck has 6 players with multi-point games against Duluth Marshall. They are not an easy team to slow down offensively. Breck did show that they can be bottled up in their own zone, so the Cadets are going to have to win corner battles in the Breck zone if they want the opportunity to repeat as Class A Champions.

For Breck, they need to find a way to get around the Eric Schurhamer/Grant Sattler defensive pairing. The duo completely took the Joey Hanowski line out of the equation en route to their victory over Little Falls. If the St. Thomas defense can limit the Breck scoring chances, then the Mustangs might be in for a one-goal game, and that's not the style of hockey they want to play. Breck wants wide-open skating and offense.

    Game 10

Thief River Falls Prowlers vs. Hermantown Hawks

    Start Time - 1:00 PM

If the Prowlers want to stay in this game, they have to move their feet. The Hawks have too much speed for the Prowlers to be making slow, lazy loops or taking shifts off. The Hermantown offense wants to get the puck moving back north, so Thief has to be ready to stake all afternoon in order to stay with Hermantown. The Prowlers will also need some depth scoring if they want to match the offense of Hermantown.

The Hawks need to clean up their defense if they want to continue on in the tournament. While Bruce Plante wants his offensive players to be offensive, the Hawks as a unit need to focus on playing good defense if they want to take home the Class A crown. The top line of Rochester Lourdes showed that the Hawks can be exposed in a game that is going back and forth.
