Charlotte's Brock McGinn tied the game on an early second period goal. Zach Boychuk gave Charlotte their first lead of the game and Keegan Lowe added to their lead. To round out the second period, Iowa's Zack Phillips scored his seventh goal of the season from Colin Bowman. Defenseman Bowman has 4 assists in seven games played for the Iowa Wild. Charlotte added one more goal in the third period from Brendan Woods for a final score of 4 to 2.

On Tuesday night, the Wild played at home versus the Grand Rapids Griffins. Johan Gustafsson started in goal for Iowa, but he didn't last long, as the Griffins scored two goals in the opening five minutes of the first period. John Curry took over and did not give up a goal until the second period when Anthony Mantha scored on the power play. Then Marek Tvrdon scored two goals, one even strength and one on the power play. Just after Tvrdon's second goal, Olivier Archambault scored Iowa's first goal of the night. About a minute later, Grand Rapids scored again, this time by Landon Ferraro. With five minutes left in the second period, Marc Hagel scored the final goal of the game, assisted by Blum and Graovac. Mercifully, this is the last time Iowa will face Grand Rapids this season. In four matches against the Griffins, Iowa has been outscored 25 to 7.
This Friday and Saturday, the Wild play away games against Lake Erie Monsters, the farm team of the Colorado Avalanche. Currently, Iowa has a league worst 38 points in the standings. The nearest team in the standings, the Charlotte Checkers, have 46 points.
