After a loss against the Chicago Wolves on Saturday Iowa was looking to get back into the win column. Unfortunately Iowa failed in that task but did manage to get a point from the Cleveland Monsters.
Alex Tuch started the scoring 8 minutes in when he put in a rebound for his 7th goal of the AHL season with assists to Hunter Warner and Colton Beck. Then the reigning AHL champions really got going with 3 in a row in the first. Joe Pendeza opened the scoring for Cleveland and Daniel Zaar and Alex Broadhurst also scored for the Monsters. Sonny Milano and Dalton Prout also had 2 assists each.
In the 1st Iowa outshot the Monsters 9-6 but were down 3-1 after one. In the second Iowa started a comeback with Nick Saracino scoring with Sam Anas and Zach Palmquist getting the assists. Then Iowa managed to tie it with a last second goal by Mike Reilly. The goal was reviewed but the goal stood. The second period saw Iowa outshooting the Monsters 9-8. The 3rd period had no scoring with Iowa again outshooting the Monsters 11-10 but Anton Forsberg and Alex Stalock standing tall.
The OT period lasted 2:27 before TJ Tynan ended it by beating Alex Stalock as he was being heavily screened. Iowa didn't have any shots in OT while the Monsters had 2 shots. Alex Stalock ended up with only 22 saves on 26 shots while Anton Forsberg made 26 saves on 29 shots.
