  • ICE Prospects include Tyler Hirsch

    Guest

Tomorrow is the first day of the 2007 NHL Centre I.C.E. Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan. The Minnesota Wild will be sending a wide array of prospects including first round draft picks James Sheppard and Benoit Pouliot.  There will also be eight tryout players including local boy Tyler Hirsch. The Bloomington, Minnesota native and former University of Minnesota Golden Gopher will suit up for the Wild and battle for the chance to attend the Wild's training camp, which opens on Friday, September 14 at the Xcel Energy Center.

The NHL Centre I.C.E. Prospects Tournament will run from Friday, September 7 to Tuesday, September 11, and will feature four games for the Minnesota Wild team. The Minnesota Wild NHL prospects will be taking on Dallas Stars prospects, Columbus Blue Jackets and the St. Louis Blues team before facing a team from the Eastern Conference in the final game. The New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings and the Atlanta Thrashers will also be taking part.

Check back to www.inthestateofhockey.com for game recaps, Tyler Hirsch and AJ Thelen updates! Hirsch and Thelen may be labeled bad boys in hockey due to their troubled pasts, but both players have great talent and MN Wild Freak likes to see local talent on NHL rosters, especially the Minnesota Wild roster!
