  • Hockey Wilderness Welcomes Monica McAlister

    Guest

Over the past season, J.S. Landry joined us, then Elise Butler added her voice and Daniel Chan came on board to cover the prospects. We are incredibly proud of the writers we have at Hockey Wilderness, and feel we provide excellent content for you, the Hockey Wilderness community.

That said, when someone who has experience writing about the Wild, and does so on a national stage, is interested in joining the fold, well, you listen.

So, we at Hockey Wilderness are proud to announce that Monica McAlister (MMcAlister) is joining us as a featured author for the 2010-2011 season. Take the jump to learn more about our newest writer.

Born and raised in Michigan I attended George Mason University outside of Washington D.C. for Sports Management.

As an avid supporter of the American Special Hockey Association I spend time volunteering at local events and promoting ASHA (Heads up the 7th Annual USA Hockey Disabled Festival is in Blaine, Minnesota April 1-3, 2011). Having a passion for all things hockey I also follow (as much as possible) the Elitserien (Swedish Elite League) and the SM-liiga (Finnish League).

I have two daughters whom love hockey. My oldest first word was even hockey and all she wanted for her third birthday this past August was her own hockey skates and gloves.

You can follow all of my antics via Twitter @MonicaMcAlister.

Think you could write a story like this? Hockey Wilderness wants you to develop your voice, find an audience, and we'll pay you to do it. Just fill out this form.
