We are getting near the end of the road with the mock draft, and only a handful of times have we felt the need to over ride the decision reached in the poll for the result mentioned in the comments. The others were when the SBNation polling system fell apart. This time, the wishes expressed in the comments simply do not match what the poll results are.
By executive decree, we are going with the popular choice out of the comments, Scott Mayfield. A stay-at-home style d-man with good size who is a great skater but has questions about his hockey ability. C'est la vie. That was the pick, and that's the pick.
With the Caps selection, our mock draft looks like this:
