  • Gamethread: Wild vs. Avalanche (7:00 p.m.)

    Guest

After a late-game tussle between Ryan Hartman and Gabriel Landeskog, the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche are facing each other the very next game. We might not see the same level of animosity between the two clubs, but we’re certainly going to get an exciting game.

Kirill Kaprizov is playing his first preseason game and the first one after signing his five-year deal. Not only that, but it’s the debut of his line with Joel Eriksson Ek and Mats Zuccarello. I’m not saying they’re going to score a billion goals, but they’re going to score a billion goals.

In addition to the new top line, we’re getting a fairly open look to what the lineup is going to be on Oct. 15 for the season opener. Maybe Matt Boldy will be switched around with Victor Rask, but we’ll see how Evason likes him with more depth players compared to the high-octane duo of Frederick Gaudreau and Kevin Fiala, as Boldy was with last game.

On the blue line...yeah, that’s pretty much what it’s going to be. Maybe Jon Merrill instead of Jordie Benn in that last spot, but they might be rotating anyways.

Let’s chat down below while we’re watching this on our tiny phone screens. I’m in device hell.
