Yet, here we are. Wild in first place, many former players enjoying some success of their own, and everyone seems to be happy. When everyone is happy, it's time to just smile and be happy. Enjoy it, everyone. You never know when it might change.
Brent Burns
Wild fans have distanced themselves from Burns, but only a bit. Two games against the Sharks has certainly helped them to see that life can go on without him. I am still firmly on the side of "How much better would the Wild D look with him?" Tough to argue with the moves with the position the Wild are in, but Burns is still missed.
Martin Havlat
Cam Barker
Still out with his ankle surgery. Of course... they likely aren't missing much.
Out of work. No word on if he is searching for a new gig or not.
Andrew Brunette
Minus 10? Yikes. Clearly Bruno is filling a role of more of a third line checker over in Chi town. Not exactly what he has been used to, but he's still around, so hopefully he is enjoying it. The Hawks are doing fine, and next Wednesday's matchup should be intense.
Such an intimidating stat line. How have the Wild possibly survived without him?
Word is, Sheppard is practicing. Good news for everyone involved.
Eric Nystrom
Only one goal this week? Psh. Slacker.
Nystrom continues to make himself a valuable part of the Stars organization, which is good for him and them. Little else to say here. He would not have had that chance with the Wild, so it's good to see him excelling.
Jose Theodore
All they do is win. Sounds familiar. Nice to see the doubters eating yet another serving of crow in FLA.
