The Minnesota Wild PR released the following statement:
Things could be worse. There was a fear that it could have been an ACL or MCL tear, which would have Coyle out of the line-up for much longer.
If you missed my series of tweets earlier today, I took another look at the play that Coyle was injured on this morning. Watching it in slow motion, it looks like Coyle takes a check into the boards, and then hits his left knee on the boards and then falls awkwardly on the same knee on Cogliano's skate. He then attempts to get up, and tries to stay off his left left as much as possible.
Coyle did make an attempt to rejoin the game last night, but was unable to make it from the locker room on to the bench. Obviously frustrated, he hit his stick against the tunnel side before being helped back into the locker room.
Hopefully he heals well and quickly. His play on and off the puck will be greatly missed by the Wild for the time being.
