Hermantown defeated Hibbing/Chisholm 6-4
St. Thomas Academy defeated Thief River Falls 5-0

These are the two teams expected to be here, based upon seeding. The Hawks and Cadets are the class of Class A, and a battle between these two teams should be fantastic. Both teams have speed, experience, powerful offense and the ability to shut other teams down. However, St. Thomas Academy has played the tougher schedule and beaten more Class AA schools and top-notch class A schools. However, Hermantown is playing their best hockey of the season right now, have experience and have been in tougher games down the stretch, showing poise and resilience. This game is set to be one of the better ones in recent class A memory, and neither team should be looking for an easy win.
My pick: St. Thomas Academy. This is a tournament team, no matter what class they're in. Just a solid team all-around.
