This one might be the one. With the Minnesota Wild hosting the mediocre New York Islanders for a little Monday afternoon collision, if the Wild end up losing this game, it might be the game that puts the nail in the coffin of this season. It might officially make Minnesota far too gone from the playoffs and with the NHL trade deadline approaching, we could see some disaster.

BUT! Thank goodness that Jonas Brodin is back and healthy, and we are starting to finally see what a full roster might look like. Now, it's just Jared Spurgeon who remains out for the time being.

    When: 5:00 p.m. CT
    Where: Xcel Energy Center
    TV: Bally Sports North
    Radio: KFAN 100.3

    Minnesota Wild projected lineup

Kirill Kaprizov -- Marco Rossi -- Mats Zuccarello
Marcus Johansson -- Joel Eriksson Ek -- Matt Boldy
Marcus Foligno -- Ryan Hartman -- Frederick Gaudreau

    Jonas Brodin -- Brock Faber
    Jake Middleton -- Zach Bogosian
    Daemon Hunt -- Dakota Mermis

    Marc-Andre Fleury
    (Filip Gustavsson)

    New York Islanders projected lineup

Anders Lee -- Bo Horvat -- Oliver Wahlstrom
Pierre Engvall -- Brock Nelson -- Hudson Fasching
Simon Holmstrom -- Mat Barzal -- Kyle Palmieri
Matt Martin -- Jean-Gabriel Pageau -- Cal Clutterbuck

    Alex Romanov -- Noah Dobson
    Adam Pelech -- Scott Mayfield
    Mike Reilly -- Sebastian Aho

    • It was unbelievably easy getting onto ESPN tonight. This could be good luck for the Wild. I'm calling a 5-3 win for the Wild in regulation...

WILD WIN!! It might be safe to say that Brodin and Hunt are slightly better than Merrill and Goligoski...

40 SOG (MIN) vs 21 SOG (NYI)
    2/5 PP (40%)
    0/5 PK (100%) + SHG by Ek
    Fleury passes Roy in Wins

Not too shabby of a night!

Brodin comes back and puts Merril in the press box and Hynes puts Gologoski in the press box in favor of Hunt. D was far and away better tonight. That's the difference right there. It's not always about who comes back on the ice as it is who's off the ice.

Like I said this morning, a silent agreement to hope for losses is fine, but man: seeing a shutout, Ek scoring a ton, the Islanders play like dopes and give out PPs like candy?  That is much more fun.
