The Montreal Canadiens and our Minnesota Wild are in similar spots. Both teams are at .500 in points percentage or above, but are also still multiple spots behind Wild Card position. They are scraping and clawing to try and steal as many points as they can to attempt to make the playoffs.
Both teams have their stars as young players who should be with the team for the next decade, and have the rest of their roster filled with veteran presence. Montreal is just trying to appear in the playoffs once again, while Minnesota is trying to not lose its claim to a long-held spot.
Big-picture sentiments out of the way, the Wild are hosting a Canadiens has lacked some firepower, but should still be a sizeable test for the entire roster.
