Our Minnesota Wild have made their way up north and are in Montreal to face the Canadiens on Tuesday night. After an impressive shutout win to open the season against the Florida Panthers, and then a demoralizing defeat at the hands of the high-powered Toronto Maple Leafs, there are some mixed results in this early season. Against a team that is projected to be lower in the standings than both of those teams, the Wild might find themselves having a slightly easier time.
But, of course, the season is never easy. Matt Boldy was injured during the game in Toronto, Alex Goligoski was hurt during practice and might be out long-term, and Jared Spurgeon is not healthy quite yet. Just a whole lot of hurt already, just two games into a season.
Unfortunately, the Wild also could not recall a player in time and will be going with 11 forwards and six defensemen in Montreal -- playing a player short. So, expect Kirill Kaprizov to finish the game edging close to 28 or so minutes played, if head coach Dean Evason deems these two points necessary.
It is sure going to be an interesting and weird one.
