This might be the last gamethread of a Minnesota Wild game until the fall. The team we love, our stupid loveable boys, are heading into Game 6 with a 3-2 series deficit against the Dallas Stars. It's really up to how this game goes if their season goes on or crumbles to another first-round loss.

For this game, there are a couple questions in the lineup. Mats Zuccarello is dealing with something and he either just took the last couple days of practice off to heal up in time for this game, or is out tonight with an injury. The assumption is that if Zuccarello doesn't go in, Marcus Johansson will go in his place on the top line and then Oskar Sundqvist will come in to play with Frederick Gaudreau and Matt Boldy.

Honestly, thinking about those players playing where they are, it is kind of a miracle the Wild are in the playoffs to start with. Anyways, larger questions aside, it's do or die on this Friday night.

    Projected Wild lineup

Kirill Kaprizov -- Ryan Hartman -- Mats Zuccarello(?)
Marcus Johansson -- Frederick Gaudreau -- Matt Boldy
Gustav Nyquist -- Sam Steel -- Marcus Foligno
Brandon Duhaime -- Connor Dewar -- Ryan Reaves

    Jake Middleton -- Jared Spurgeon
    Jonas Brodin -- Matt Dumba
    John Klingberg -- Brock Faber

    Filip Gustavsson
    Marc-Andre Fleury

    Projected Stars lineup

Jason Robertson -- Roope Hintz -- Tyler Seguin
Jamie Benn -- Wyatt Johnston -- Evgenii Dadonov
Mason Marchment -- Max Domi -- Ty Dellandrea
Frederik Olofsson -- Radek Faksa -- Luke Glendening

    Ryan Suter -- Miro Heiskanen
    Esa Lindell -- Jani Hakanpaa
    Thomas Harley -- Colin Miller

    Jake Oettinger
    Scott Wedgewood

Fuck. Wild performed beyond expectations given the situation this season. That being said, given the performance/roster that was assembled, they should have showed better in the playoffs. Fire the whole coaching staff. I'm tired of Dean-O and his team. See everyone next year.

And there's three straight losses to end the season for the second straight year--this time at home.

Does Deano get a third chance to find assistant coach(es) to manage the special teams, or is it time for new coaches here just like Iowa?

Part of the problem is that you can't save the intensity for when you're down 3-0 in the third.  You gotta play with spirit out of the gate.  They failed to do that tonight and most of the series.

Well the Wild's off-season moves and GMBG quotes will be easier to handle emotionally.

I still think Rossi, Addison should be traded but now add Foligno.

Damn, Tuch would've been a great player to have in MN. I said it then, how Tuch would've been a younger, more impactful version of Foligno for less money at that time. Sadly the Wild's toughness and hitting just didn't do jack to help the team win. The Wild need an identity and they can't just say it. They really have to do it and prove it. I had a bad feeling down the stretch when they lost every game against good teams including an L to the Flyers I think. Couldn't beat Vegas, Pittsburgh, WPG, and almost lost to Chicago and Nashville.

We know Ek is important but again I think GMBG set the Wild up with the depth they needed. The Wild just sucked most of the last month. Almost like they knew there was gonna be pressure and they choked on the way to the final choke. I don't wanna see anymore stupid marketying videos. I thought it was all about fuckin winning Billy!

At least we aren’t the Leafs!

We'll see tomorrow night. If they advance, it makes the Wild officially the biggest chokers of the first round in the past 6-8 years at least. With  numerous GMs, Coaches, and Players. State of Hockey, and marketing is pure propaganda.

I mean I hope the Leafs lose cause those fans will be more pissed and a collapse for them would be a degree or two larger than the Wild's choke which we all sorta saw coming in the deja-vu department.

I think right now Toronto fans have a decent hope to get the first round monkey off their back. Nylander comments I heard recently weren't proclaiming great grit and character. I heard him say something about effin winning Billy!

    Boldy - 11 playoff games. 4 pts. 1 goal. -3.

Can only go up from here.

    Kaprizov. Gonna need some help.

A healthy Ek would have helped but too little too late.

Evason has been fine for the regular season but I think the Wild are gonna need a lot more changes. They've looked for consistency and from within to improve under cap constraints but the plan isn't working. This year was a better path and last year everyone cried that the Wild had to face a tough STL team. MN sports baby! In the running for top worst...

The Leafs haven’t won a playoff series since 2004. They have lost 7 straight opening rounds and missed the playoffs 10 years since 2004.

Just sayin they're closer than the MN right now to wiping that off the history books and leaving the Wild in the biggest loser placeholder position for playoff choke-artists.

    1) is Dallas this good

    2) are we this average

    3) are we  getting out coached and clowned

it’s hard to believe that this is an elimination game at home.  The wild are certainly not playing like it is.

    4) all of the above?
