MNCountryLife Verified Member
Can we get a big Minnesota "UFFDA". $17M for Hughes? We would likely have the two largest contracts for the entire NHL on one team. That sure feels unwise.... yet would not surprise me.
MNCountryLife Verified Member
I think there is an argument that the window is on the Ek contract.... not Boldy's. That being said... they are both extremely vital to our winning.
Burnt Toast Verified Member
As long as Kaprizov, Hughes, and Boldy bring superstar impact to the table, Minnesota has a chance to win through the 2023 season. I admire the lengths the Wild are willing to go to bring the cup home. Building a time machine highlights just how serious they are…. JK. I appreciate your articles Big T., especially the research and stats you provide. I agree with you on having as many years possible to make a run towards the Cup. I guess it’s a pretty big balancing act.
Patrick Verified Member
If we end up paying Hughes 17 million at least there is an objective argument that he is worth it. I also don't understand why people think KK is better than Rantanen. If anything it's the other way around. Rantanen scores more in the regular season than KK and more importantly he elevates his game in the playoffs while KK does the opposite. Personally I'd take a playoff performer when everything else is equal...🤷♂️

Dude, the Stars hockey forum might want some of your love.
