I like Vinny T but locking up another small over 30 yo 11 goal guy.  At the expense of yurov/haight/stram-ba-lam + 1st??

He is a 22 goal pace guy with good skating who can play on the PK. He doesn't have the size, but he is almost certainly better than Haight will ever be, and probably Stramel as well. Definitely don't trade Yurov!

Trochek's 11 goals have come in just 35 games. He gets assists too, so might be a longer term answer for Zuccarello aging out, or Tarasenko not returning.

Also note that Trocheck has won over 54% of his faceoffs on high volume for 6 straight seasons. And his contract only takes him through his age 35 season. It's not like he would be an old man when it ends.

ok that’s intriguing.  97 needs a new Robin.  How much tread is left on Vinny’s tires?  Has he historically played full seasons?   Still wish he were <30 but I guess Zuccy was productive into late 30’s

I don't know his injury history well, but he missed just 1 game the 4 seasons prior to this one. 5 of the last 9 seasons prior to this one, he has played 82 games, and he played 81 in another season.

He missed some games in ages 25-27, but hard to count them exactly with the Covid shortened seasons, and he was traded in February of 2020, so I'm not certain what percentage of games he played for each team. I believe his most major injury was a leg injury in his age 25 season.

He did miss 14 games this season with an upper body injury sustained in October, but seems to be fine now. He has 28 points in the 33 games since returning from injury, including all 11 of his goals.

Playing with Panarin certainly helps the points, so hard to say how much is Trocheck, but the Wild have a high level Russian player who scores at a similar pace, so I imagine the transition might not be too difficult if he joins the Wild.

I’m sold. Finding 97’s next wingman so we can get back to unlocking his value tips the scales for me. If VT is best available get r done.  Can’t have too many Vinny’s.
