That entire 2nd line is playing some very good hockey.  The best I have seen from all 3 of them.  We ask a lot from that line and they have delivered.

Marcus:  1-3

Boldy: 1-1

Ek: 1-1

Nobody in the rear view mirror and Dallas just 3 points away.

Last night was crazy!  Vegas got dismantled and had no way to stop our 2nd line.

It's not a Boldy detractor, it's pointing out that he has slumped in the middle of the season most of the time, especially since Fiala left. Until he doesn't slump, that slump will be in the back of all fans' minds.

I love the start he's gotten off to. I also like the scoring he has done in tight. But, last season, even while slumping, he did something he hadn't done in the past, he still was a volume shooter. To me, this meant that even though he wasn't getting rewarded, he wasn't losing his confidence. This is a very important step.

Chances are, if he continues to drive the net and get into shooting positions on the move like last night's goal, he will be rewarded more often.

Even while he was slumping last season, one thing he continued to excel in was the shootout. He may not have had many goals during that time, but he was very good in the shootouts when we needed it.

Goal scorers go hot and cold and are typically streaky. We should just enjoy the ride this season with him. Maybe the snakebit stuff from last season averages out this year!
