Article: Wild Continue To Roll With Dominant Win Over Capitals

Nice win last night as the Wild continue to bank points. By my calculations, we must be pretty close to last year's record by now.

Everyone is dealing with injuries too, this compact schedule this year has had a real affect on some rosters. This is more reason why keeping 2 fresh 'tenders helps us now and in April.

The East looks like a traffic jam of 16 teams. Nobody is wanting to take control and a 4 game win streak can really send you up the board. It looks a lot like the Wacky Racers over there. The West has thinned a bit, but there's really only 3 teams out of it. We happened to get the best player from one of those teams!

Right now, stay the course, this is the way, however you want to say it, and perhaps we can add in January again, this time without draining more from our roster!

Well, I missed that the Sabres have changed GMs, and rumor is that Ruff is heading into management and they'll be getting a new coach. Jarmo Keklainen, I hope I spelled that right, has taken over.

Does this mean trades are coming out of Buffalo? The new GM thinks he can turn this around and isn't giving up on the season. Buffalo isn't far away from a playoff spot either, even though they're at the bottom of the East. A new coach bump could get them on the edge of the playoffs!

I still value Tuch highly, and think he'd be just what we need come playoff time. It is very telling that he has not yet resigned with Buffalo. I'd say grabbing him from Buffalo and ROR out of Nashville for futures could be the best way to go!

Getting both Tuch and ROR isn't out of the realm of possibility given their contracts this season. If they waive Tarasenko, I believe that would be enough to give them the space to fit both in by the TDL.

That said... idk that they've got the ammo to get both. ROR gets to pick his destination from the sounds of it (I assume we look enticing right now) but Tuch only has a 5-team NTC and would get Buffalo a pretty sizable return (likely more than the Wild would be willing to offer) from somebody.

And it brings into question how you keep Tuch next year. They have $13.1M in space right now, so unless you convince Nashville to retain some of ROR's cap-space he's going to take up $4.5M of that.

With Tuch looking for roughly $11M AAV or so, that means a couple other players have to get moved next year.

I just can't see Buffalo trading Tuch yet although I'll admit there is a small percent chance. ROR I think would be a realistic add though and would be a great pick up for our team.

KK ROR Zucc (You could swap Ek and ROR as well)

Boldy Ek Jojo (I refuse to call him Nojo while he's playing at this level)

Foligno Yurov Hartman (KK double shift line) -or- Trenin Yurov Tarasenko

Trenin Sturm Tarasenko -or- Foligno Sturm Hartman

ROR would be a rental until/if Yurov develops into what we're all hoping for.

But the cap may go up $8-10M next season, we do need to keep all of our elite young talent. With that said, Tuch and or Crosby would look great in Wild sweaters!!

Word going around is that the Sabres will be pausing any trades until the new GM and possibly new coach get a feel for the team. Doesn't mean it wouldn't happen at the TDL.
