Boldy is second on the team to the guy who is going to get 17 million. When Boldy is due a contract he will be considered for a contract similar to Kaprizov's. That is if he is on a hundred point streak for the next five years of his career. So, maybe we should just sit back and see where this bus is going before we start comparing contracts and worth of players.

If the Wild were starting negotiations with KK today they probably open with 12 million. He has the lowest Corsi and Fenwick in the top 6 and has been mediocre 5 on 5. Boldy has been excellent 5 on 5 in all three zones. Excellent on the PK and excellent on the PP. Despite the fact that KK has played almost a full game more than Boldy 5 on 5 Boldy only has one less point. The silver lining is that KK will likely play much better ( I think he is still injured) as the season goes on and that will make the Wild a very formidable team!

It's about percentage of the cap. If you don't understand that I got nothing for you. Kirill is a star of the team. Let's try and explain this to you Leon Draisaitl made 14 million last year with a cap of 88 million when it was signed. The cap since went up but that wasn't a thing when the contract was signed. That percentage was 15 percent of the cap. When Kirill signed his contract the idea that Boldy was going to do this was not a thing. People thought maybe but it wasn't a sure thing. Now for a very short time he has proven he can score at the same pace as Kirill. So anyway, the projected cap for the 2027/28 season is going to be 113 million. Since everyone knows that the cap will be around that the contract is written as such. Which if you do the math it comes out to 15 percent of the cap. So, basically Kirill is going to make the same as Draisaitl. At the end of the day both are top 25 scores in the league and the team is paying less for the two than Edmonton is paying for their top two, this season. So yes terrible take. If he’s not recovered from that/those by now that’d qualify as a chronic injury. I hope you’re wrong
