Article: Wild Reportedly Looking to Trade For Key Forward

According to The Fourth Period, the Wild are looking to make a key addition soon. [The Fourth Period]

The dateline in that article is almost a week old (04Nov2025), plus the fact that a team that's seeking to be competitive is looking to add.

Russo's article today mentioned the wild might be kicking the tires on Kyrou (who's been a healthy scratch with the Blues) and also jokingly tweeted during the game last night that Zucc was talking to Kadri with his glove over his mouth which likely was Zucc telling Kadri to come to MN...

I don't know what the Wild would have to give up for Kyrou, but if it's reported that his healthy scratch was due to 'sending a message about needing to be competitive' I'm not sure that type a player is going to fit in this lineup...

Old man feebly yells at sky. Looks to bring in another 35yr old reclamation project instead of developing player. Water is wet.

Welcome to OCL and GMBG's vision of full seats on another first round exit.

While I wouldn’t bet against your prediction given Guerin’s history. I’m hopeful that we get back a sub-30 year old 1) late bloomer type 2) Tai Domi type OR 3) disgruntled top 6 (kyrou)

Senko fills our quota for last hurrah Vanek/Hanzel types

Kyrou can't be any less dependent a player on the ice than Tarasenko...one would hope.  $8m is pretty steep, but 70 pt player thresholds are kinda what the Wild need more of if their bottom six is incapable of scoring.

Yes, still searching for our Fiala replacement giving us two lines that are a threat on a consistent basis

i'm kind of ok with vlady....his presence with harty and hinny on L3 is going swell. yeah he has some miss reads and fumbles with the puck but then comes back with some slick moves.....let those three continue to mash and see what we got

johy is also playing like we've never seen before and we are getting some crazy value out of him - he is basically giving us the same production as guentzel at a 7 mm discount 🤔

so i'd leave johy and vlady and not overpay for Kyrou

wait for the big fish - if available - strike

To me, this sounds like a perfect example of a "change of scenery" need for Kyrou. I'm in on this one, looking to give back futures/prospects.

Kadri is one of my most hated players. I think he's a cheap shot artist and from what I've seen way worse than Cooke (was here). POS is how I would describe him and under no circumstances do I want him donning the green and red.

Kyrou would fit what we are looking for.  He is still younger.  6 years remaining on his rather large contract.  We don't have the cap room for him.  So we would have to give up a $4M player.  Would the Blues take back Senko knowing his deal is done this year and give them a clean $8M extra cap space to work with next year?  Maybe.  For a team that looks primed for a tank this may be viable.

It wouldn't let me like it a couple of times, but this is excellent thinking! Get Kyrou in as early as possible so he can settle down and mesh with the new teammates. Of course, futures would need to be given too.

No way the Blues trade with a division foe, especially Kyrou. I wish, but it ain't gonna happen.

That is generally the way things go, so we would have to be willing to give a little extra. Perhaps giving that little extra prospect would be ok. If we've got someone they want, it could work out.

St. Louis' A affiliate is Springfield. Strangely, it is not listed in the central division, but is in the east. So, the impressions that were made during the prospect tournament will be the start of what could be the asking price. Besides Buium, who performed well during the game against St. Louis?

I wonder if Heidt made an impression? I don't think Lambos was there, but could see him or Spacek being part of a deal. I think Benak is probably safe as he's too far away. I'd be willing to deal Haight, Heidt and Lambos in a deal like that.

Sabres are trying to move Tuch and a goalie.  Edmonton is looking for a goalie.  Sabres want a center in return and need help on D.

Edmonton gets Georgiev.

Wild get Tuch

Sabers get Trent Frederic and Mids.

Edmonton is happy with a solid goalie.  Sabres get a responsible center and D man.  Wild improve scoring depth.

I could be on board with this.

I believe Tuch is more like the type of player that Guerin is looking for: big, strong, fast, can score, mean streak. I believe he reminds him of him. He might bet on Tuch being better in his 30s too.

So, we have 2 discussions: We have Tuch who I really like here, and we have Kyrou who I also really like and is younger. But, Kyrou is only 2 years and 2 drafts younger. It's not that much difference. But, come playoff time, a healthy Tuch adds another one of those Foligno/Trenin type players except he can also score. This is where Tuch is the better fit for us. We can get there in the regular season, it's the 1st round where we are stonewalled.

The issue with Tuch cones price tag.  Kyrou's money is baked in at $8m and change for years.  Tuch might also be asking for more in trade desperation (if the Rossi deal was anything to go by).

I think Guerin should hunt for either.  A Tarasenko, Nic Robertson, etc player is not going to move the needle anymore.  Panarin will also hit Faster Time eventually.

Zuccarello and Mojo are scoring now, but a sub-30 year old, multi-year 70 pt Top 6 replacement with term is right there.  It may be risking a first in a good draft (any maybe a decent prospect or two), but if you can do that while leaving the younger roster intact, that's be amazing.

P.S. As much as I like Ek, Brodin, and Spurgeon, see if St. Louis or Buffalo would take them to leave Faber, Buium, and Yurov alone.
