HockeyWriters thought he deserved to go earlier. "Blake is considered a late second to early third-round pick. Given his recent success with Eden Prairie and the Chicago Steel, I expect him to be an early third-round pick. He has all the tools to develop into a promising NHL prospect."

Weighing only 150 pounds his draft year certainly dropped him. He gained an inch in height and 35 pounds since that draft. Looks like he's going to be a hell of a player. Perhaps that mistake was in his mind when the Wild drafted Benak this year.
