Will D. Ness Verified Member
Across the board our defense has been below their norms. Even Brodin has looked pretty average. Bogo was the one guy that looked good or at least solid for what he can bring. But... I want Jiricek to play warts and all.

It's almost as though the entire blue line read the pre-season "rave reviews" about their ability and decided to coast.
mnfaninnc Verified Member
I haven't been disappointed in Middleton's play. I suppose if I looked at the fancy stats, there might be cause for concern, but the eye test doesn't say he's been abysmal, like the stat sheet suggests. I thought he's been a decent partner for Jiricek too. I'd rather have Brodin there, but Midsy will do.
Pewterschmidt Verified Member
If people are waiting for Paul Coffey Midsy that we saw flashes of last year, stop waiting. That was an aberration. If you want a big body good natured above average n h l dman, Midsy is your guy
Forrest Gump Worsley Verified Member
Middleton is an average player starting his age 30 season playing on what is currently one of the worst teams in the NHL, so I'm really not sure how much more people were expecting. Getting league-average production and minutes from half of his 4 year contract would be cause for celebration or at the very least, relief.
