Pewterschmidt Verified Member
Trade 1: too good to be true. Here take our broken prospect and a old barrel of dirt for your 26 yr old top six'r with size and grit. Um no. Trade 2: WTF?!? Jiri for Tippett. We gave the farm for Jiri only a year ago. Um no. Trade 3: Again with Jiri? This one is closest to a possibility imo. Brodin ain't a kid anymore and at least we're getting Drysdale back for Jiri.
0 Stanley Cups Verified Member
While I wouldn't mind seeing Tippett on our second line, I don't like the idea of giving up on Ohgren or Jiricek this early, especially when Hynes is giving them the Zucker/Haula/Fiala treatment over JoJo and Bogo. Drysdale for Brodin absolutely not. If Foligno or Trenin aren't putting up points then they just need to rack up the hits, otherwise I'd much rather have Duhaime over Trenin at half price. As much as I dread the idea, with Zuccy out injured we could use a Zegras setting up Ohgren or Tarasenko, but never happen with BG, I still can't believe I thought that, but we could use the center depth however Yurov is projecting nicely. 0 Stanley Cups Verified Member
I barely watch Tampa Bay, but even though I would've loved to have McDonagh a few years ago or as a cheap future depth piece, pundits have been ripping the Lightning's defense as slow, saying how badly they miss Sergachev. Citizen Strife Verified Member
I'm ok with Tippet but I don't know if Brodin or Jiricek are the best people to send in exchange.

He is pretty much who we hope that Ohgren would ideally become. Ohgren + 2026 1st, would that be enough? I'd really rather keep Trenin around, who is looking much better this year and seems to have picked up from where he was in the playoffs.

I could see going after Tippett, it would be a more cost effective alternative than Tuch who could sign his next contract in the $10M range. The Wild only have ~$4M in cap space, and Tippett is $6.2M, so who else from the Wild is going to PHI if not Trenin?

Every game we play without needing somebody on LTIR should continue to help us accrue that space. There's also the possibility of getting Philly to hang onto some of that cap-hit for this season in exchange for the pick. Next year, the Wild are currently are slated to have $16.4M with only Jiricek and Hunt as RFAs. Idk that they need to bring back any of Zuccy/Vladdy/Johansson/Hinny/Bogo as UFAs. So they should be able to fit in Tippett fairly comfortably while still having room to make further improvements if they would like.

Elliotte Friedman is saying Flyers would be looking to improve defense, I would suspect it would cost Brodin...Midsy has NMC this year.
