mnhockeyfan03 Verified Member
Same bunch of turds different year. Nothing has or will change without big shakeup. Coach and players needed. Terasenko sucks and Kap not making impact. Zeev and Faber can’t clear net. Going to be fighting for wild card spot again. Yippee.

mnhockeyfan03 Verified Member
You can see in Kaps face he is done with this dog crap team. He didn’t even bother to show up tonight. Just going through the motions.

Citizen Strife Verified Member
Overdramatic much? If Kap leaves, he leaves. If he signs, he signs. From last night's performance, he's not some be all end all answer if he asks for too much money. Besides, Rossi and Boldy got the scoring done through their efforts. Acting like Kap is the only skilled player on the ice is a bit much Edited September 26 by Citizen Strife
Pewterschmidt Verified Member
Pewter prognostications: 1) tarasenko is Nyquist 2.0 except we’ll have him for 82 games. 2) Ogz has a good shot but almost no hockey sense to go along with it 3) Yurov isn’t ready for the nhl. But P-kaboo what about the khl records he broke. Clearly the khl ain’t what it used to be
MNCountryLife Verified Member
I feel like I watched a different hockey game after reading the comments. I thought Ohgren and Yurov played well. Kirill had an okay night. Rossi and Boldy looked very good. Haight was okay but isn't ready. Heidt, Jones, Vinnie, Marek and Larson all need another 1 to 2 years down in the A. Faber and Buium did a nice job of spacing themselves. Buium needs to be a bit more cautious on the blue line. Jiricek gets himself out of position often but plays a strong game. Mids was fine. Johnson and Gleason both had really bad nights. They would be my first cuts this morning.
MNCountryLife Verified Member
Was listening to BG last night. He emphasized the draft when building a team. He has high hopes for the new coaches down in IA. Would have liked to hear details on what the Wild are doing to try and bring players along? What are the new coaches doing that the old coaches didn't? Why is he optimistic?

One bad period in a preseason game (with a goalie who probably won't see NHL time), and a couple people just cringing. BUIUM ISN'T MAKAR ALREADY HE SUCKS YUROV ISN'T BETTER THAN EK OR ROSSI ALREADY HE SUCKS KAP PLAYED BAD HE DON'T WANNA BE HERE HE SUCKS TARASENKO DIDN'T SCORE HE SUCKS "dramatic effect, but not far off.* 1

Quite a bit of negativity. We need to expect some adjustments for the young guys. Buium, Jiricek, Ohgren, Yurov all fit in well and didn't look out of place. Expect mistakes.... especially in the preseason. The other young guys didn't fit in. They struggled with proper positioning, spacing, stick to stick passing. Not sure why Vinnie isn't playing better. The guy has NHL experience. I would flat cut him or sign him to the A and not bring him up. He has peaked and heading south. I thought Peterson played well on Tuesday.

Agree with everything in your post with minor exception here: these two didn’t embarrass themselves last night. They went thru all the motions and kept up with the play. They just didn’t CREATE anything. Ogz had a nice wrister in close but then whiffed on a grade A. C’mon bro. It’s time to seize this opportunity. His play making abilities are really non-existent. even less from Yurov. Making a drop pass doesn’t mean he contributed. Created real scoring chances are what we’re looking for and it hasn’t happened. I’m especially focusing on these two because they were the next up in the prospect cavalry and neither will move the needle in their 21 year old seasons

Then he pivoted and named Judd Brackett and 'how good a job he's done' and how Wild are hoping their prospects can start contributing yada yada. What I heard is bill t-ing up Brackett to be the fall guy (because he's going to need one) if this group misses playoffs or one-and-done's again.

He's in the business of selling the Wild product. Use your own eyeballs to determine whether or not you should be optimistic. What have you seen from Haight, Heidt or Bankier to give you optimism? Jirizy is one of the main reason's for this fan to be optimistic. For first time in franchise history it looks like we've got our Pronger prototype d-man in the system.

Lol ok just playing at a D1 level makes me not know hockey. I just have higher expectations and not drinking the cool aid that most fans do. This team needs lots of help. Citizen Strife Verified Member
To be fair, none of us actually know hockey (not the way Hynes, Guerin, and Brackett do). We just watch it.
Citizen Strife Verified Member
For all we know, Jiricek's joint up into plays too much could be annoying them, and Yurov or Ohgren's "non-descript boring stuff" is full of intangible decision making that makes for a better well-rounded team. Only they know what thresholds players have to meet before they are "ready.
Will D. Ness Verified Member
Zeev had a rough game. He is playing a little too loose offensively and a little soft defensively. I think we better prepare ourselves for a learning curve here with Zeev. Jiricek looks good to me so far. He did get caught out of position a few times but has a heavier game, heavier shot and heavier attitude. Pair him with Brodin and give him a green light? Yurov is incrementally getting better each game. I think it's his comfort factor and as he becomes more comfortable his game improves. Wally looked pretty good, but didn't really face much. We played a tight game in the 1st. Ohgren wasn't all that impressive. I'm expecting him to win more pucks and have a little more fight. He is trying to win a spot here and I didn't see the effort. Yeah it's preseason... but still. As for the rest, the only guy worth mentioning is Haight. He looks a little more NHL calibre than the other prospects.

The majority of new guys have to adjust and won't move the needle right away. I think that is expected. The big thing is they didn't look bad. Johnson and Gleason looked bad. Heidt and Merak struggled. Give Yurov and Ohgren 30 games and they will elevate.
