Pewterschmidt Verified Member
Yurov trenin vinnesota line with two nhl rs should be tearing it up, but they’re not yurov needs full season in Iowa and so does Haight. I think his game is NHL ready, albeit on the bottom six.

Good grief the f’in hype machine was working overdrive on these two NHL is a different animal. I think Yurov has a deal that allows him to go back to the KHL rather than AHL? Check me on that. I've said this before but Brackett is the kind of guru that can select good young players who might project well at age eighteen, but the results are what really matter. Guys from 2021 and 2022 draft MN didn't pick who are in the NHL show a contrast between who we got and who we want. I hope Yurov just needs to get comfortable and confident, but the eye test is more important than the prior numbers and hype-factor.

The final roster and lines matter. Trenin isn't really a playmaker or adept passer through the neutral-zone where Yurov can gather some speed and potentially set up a chance on the rush. Yurov's highlights show him capitalizing on plays like that. Vinnie is a grinder who likewise isn't a perfect linemate for Yurov IMO. Still, against WPG's JV team, you'd wanna see something more.
