Really dislike the Winter Classics. Agree the bear logo uni's are too busy and just not appealing. The Alt. Uni without the bear are very good. On a different level, I know it isn't popular but i really like the iron range reds ( but with a few tweaks).

I personally like the team colors and Wild logo a lot, though I think an update in Jersey design is overdue.

I kind of miss the script ones, though maybe I'd put a small bear logo up on the shoulders or something.

I had briefly heard that it was changed and the woke comment but didn't know where that was coming from. Then, when looking at the states and flags today, something looked very unfamiliar! Thanks for the representation description, I wouldn't have gotten that from just plain looking at it.

About all I can say is that is a huge change. If they were going for simple, mission accomplished. I did like the Rochester flag a lot.

Seems like the new flag kind of misses the mark. Not in a woke way, but in a missing detail way. It's kind of like the Twins Blue and Yellow uniforms. I'm not sure where they got that from. They look nice but where is the yellow from? Don't eat the yellow snow?

Flags and uniforms are symbols. For me, the Wild need a change. The current jerseys just look outdated. With 5-6 new rookies coming in, and likely some trade deadline deals, it seems to me that you'd want a visual representation of this is a new and different team. Not to mention the benefit of to the owner of sales of the new look. The road jersey, especially needs a new look, it's very stale.

I think both reverse retros are the best upgrade at this point, but I wouldn't mind seeing the old North Star jersey with the Wild colors, especially the roads. If you want to stay with the green/red combo, I'd brighten the shades and am very curious as to why there is no lake blue in the jersey.

So we argue over jerseys... I'd say the longest running loss streak in the 1st round and not being able to get to the finals would be the biggest red flag. But hey let's go with that.

They are still at BEST, a middle team. When will they get better? Billy has said 5 years, they are past that. When will they be competitive? What has he changed?

I used to think we had a ton of no movement/trade clauses until I started looking at other teams.  This year we have 5 players with no movement clauses and three with modified no trade clauses.  Next year, that drops to one NMC (probably 2, assuming Kap gets one), and 4 players with modified no trade clauses.

Vegas for example has 4 players with a NMC, 5 with full no trade clauses and 4 with modified no trade clauses.

As for Trenin's contract, it is $3.5M for the next three years with no trade protections.  Easily tradeable.

And who will trade for him? You say easily tradeable, for who? People actually want to trade for what you have.

I don't think there's really an argument over jerseys. It's more of a discussion over how best to implement change. For instance, rebranding or repackaging is a common thing done throughout corporate America. New and improved always gets new packaging.

In essence, that is what a jersey is, corporate packaging. It's a visual reminder of where loyalties lie. If I've got a Wild license plate (vanity plate) on the front of my car (since in NC we don't have front and back plates), I'm supporting that packaging and making public where my loyalties lie. Plus, it's easier to find the right car in the parking lot!

It's the same thing with the fans when they wear their brand to the games either at the arena or in front of their tvs. But, that same branding has the same feelings of success, or, in your point, a lack of getting out of the 1st round of the playoffs. This team will have the most turnover it's had since the last lockout. Simply put, the management will want to put a "new and improved" sticker on the team. Are they new, yes. Are they improved? Well, that might take a year or 2 to figure out.

I believe expectations should be tempered as for this season. There should be a lot of growth in the new kids, but I expect that the team, as a whole, will be competing for a WC spot again. Should that be alarming? No. It takes time to gel. Kids, specifically, are more susceptible to streaks, both high and low. Their confidence is all over the place. At least with the marinating they've done, they've at least gotten used to a long season. This season will also be fairly different with the Olympics happening and a long break.

Do they make the playoffs? I think they squeak in. Do they win their 1st round? I think likely not with the guys they've got now, but, should their be a significant during the season, that could change the trajectory. I think, though, what will be seen is that this new and improved team will be on a different trajectory and be considered closer to a contender by the end of the season. Results always lag, so I expect us to be very similar to the 2012-13 season.

Part of this process, I believe is the repackaging. Maybe the long term guys still here need that reminder. The fans do for sure. Jerseys aren't the only thing, the whole game day experience needs to be changed up, really just as a reminder that change has come to the team.

We're number 11! We're number 11!

Who's got time to complain about bad contracts when we're in the top THIRD of the league?!

Well done SillyG, our job here is done if we can get to 11th place!

Any NHL team that needs a bigger body.

A bigger body, what does that get you? You need skill. Not just lumbering bruisers. Florida, Edmonton, Colorado, Dallas, Boston, etc all figured that out.

Again, who will trade for what you have if it's undesirable?

So what has actually changed?

All you are arguing is a marketing change, designed for the higher upside to make money.

The team hasn't changed, upper management seems content to roll it all back. As long as they make the playoffs.

Who the he'll cares about jerseys? That just seems like another distraction to make money and sit pat.

It’s one contract.  Worse contracts have been traded.

So, you wouldn't be calling 5-6 rookies + Tarasenko change? That's 1/3 of the roster. That's significant change!
