Imyourhuckleberry Verified Member
A viable 3rd pairing defender would be a nice development from Souni 5 years or so from now. Hopefully he can reach a Soucy-like level.
Imyourhuckleberry Verified Member
With his size and skating, it seems like a reasonable use of the late round pick. Edited Monday at 03:31 PM by Imyourhuckleberry
Pewterschmidt Verified Member
Next to impossible to figure out which of these late round flyers become Carson Soucy or Ryan O'rourke in 5 years.
1Brotherbill Verified Member
Does anyone really think this guy will be in St. Paul? Being that Minnesota has a lot of defenseman who have been drafted higher and have shown that they have skills to make it in the NHL. If he does make it to the NHL, Soni will be playing somewhere else.

A minimum contract defense first RHD might be useful for the Wild in 2030 or so.

Problem is they the organization has the same problem with players that fans have with home town players and long time members of the organization. They tend to never trade or let them go. Seems like a lot to invest in someone who can be replaced twice a season in the draft over those six years and also could be replaced with someone better in Free Agency. I get that it is the middle of summer and news is light, but Soini? Would rather read an article on Caron Lambos and what he is doing to be a full time NHL player. Or how many Brown Bears Kirill has wrestled in the last week.
Mateo3xm Verified Member
Niko Mikkola on the panthers was a 5th round pick. I’d be ecstatic if he turned out to be a player like him.

Weren’t you the one that thought kivi had no offense ability based on the two games you saw? Maybe that was someone else..?
