And then we have Spurgy. When we do eventually replace Spurgy, it should be with height + weight. This will need to be traded for. Down on the farm, I believe Lambos will come in somewhere in the 210 neighborhood and Spacek around 200. 

We're getting bigger, and some of the forwards are getting smaller. Will we be alright? Like you are probably thinking, I think we need 1 more. My thought is that Spurgy has run his course and Detroit is a perfect home for him. Danielson would be the compensation. Spurgy knows how to get to the playoffs and is a great 2nd pairing RHS defender that will help the Red Wings. They've got the cash and have guys almost there but not quite ready yet. They need a guy like Spurgy. This is a win-win trade.

Then, with the cap room, we go find the 6-6 230 defender to replace him. Bahl would have been a really good candidate, but Samuelsson is probably my choice. My understanding is they may want to part with Samuelsson instead of Byram. 

I think it was Dean who suggested we go after Terry, Rust, and Rakell. I think that's a bad allocation of resources and those guys aren't what we need. Save the money, give the kids time, assess and see where we need the help, don't be afraid to find new homes for some vets who are struggling. I really think there's a deal to be had with Anaheim including Rossi and McTavish. That could be a win-win and I'm not a little bit scared of McTavish's defensive numbers. Defense is typically the last thing a forward learns.

Yes Spurg has to be replaced and Bridins time is coming soon as well in lambos and Zeev can step up.  
 

I am not a fan of mctavish.  Have seen him in person about 10 games and he doesn’t have the burst speed.  Basically same speed as Rossi (not fast) and doesn’t play physical either.  I am a fan of Rakell.  Have seen him enough to know he has it.  If we can do something with Detroit for Spurgeon to get Danielson and something with Pitt to get Rakell I am ok with that.  Staying away from Terry and Rust. Spurg has to go if this team is serious

Also Faber cannot clear the front of the net and either can Zeev.  I still would trade Faber for a true 1C if opportunity presented itself.

Because he’s a recent 9th overall pick drafted as a center.  Moving him to wing would be an admission of failure.  He’ll play wing on his next team I’d bet

It’s a little premature to say whether or not Zeev will be able to do something.

Attended the World Junior Summer Series game US vs CAN.  Spot shadowed Ryder Ritchie for Team Canada.  He was on the first line with Michael Misa (2nd overall).  Liked alot of what I saw from Ritchie.  Good size, handles, playmaking ability and most importantly motor.  Looks like he may have that dog in him to eventually become a solid NHL'r.  Going to keep an eye on him.

To recap Pewter's prognostications from SWE v FIN: Steal of the Draft Kivaharju will not make the NHL.  Why P-Dog?  Way to small (he'd look small in an Edina HS vs Wayzata HS game), and not nearly dynamic enough offensively to offset the size deficiency.  RE: Seb. Soini (2024 5th rd), don't hold your breath on this kid either.  Good size but saw him hang his head a couple times during the game.  Got no dog in him.

But they might be quick to pounce on rebounds and not allow 2nd chances and to disrupt extended o-zone time by the opposition .  Its not always about the physical game .

If that is muscle he certainly has done what he needed to do.
