Rossi will be fine. It might just take a while for his agent to accept a deal that works for the Wild.

I am aware. I was talking about his former deal while he was a restricted free agent when I referenced Rossi. We should at least wait until Kaprizov in back in the US before fretting over a possible extension this summer.

With his play I wonder if that had anything to do with an injury, may not have needed surgery but can still have a long term affect on play taking a shot to the leg. With Kap, I don't know how much the consult him for things like draft picks and trades. Vlad reaching out to Kap to check on the culture and stuff here, absolutely can see that, Billy or OCF reaching out, maybe, doubtful to me but maybe. I think the article brings up a good point, Rossi would be a great 3C, especially if protected by larger players, which may have been part of why he hit line 4 in playoffs, opens up room for him where he potted 2. NoJo, Zucc, and Rossi on a line is too small with 0 grit. I think Rossi could be a contributor on the team, someone who can move up if needed. Rossi Moose Hartman as line 3, especially if Hartman plays like he did in the playoffs could work.

No need to apologize to me, as I have said, there are times I actually agree with your takes and will support them as such, other times where I think you are off your rocker just like you do with me haha. don't tell anyone, but i am actually rooting for Rossi to come in and whoop ass and become a top 6 consistent producer, while adding some claude lemieux nastiness to his game. this only helps the team and at the end of the day - we all want one thing - to win the stanley cup!

Just to clarify.  Marco Rossi is not going to win Minnesota a Stanley Cup.  He can be on a team that wins the Cup but he isn't going to be the reason that Minnesota does.  So, the "Sign him" people need to step back and realize that he isn't as valuable as everyone thinks.  

The league said he isn't that valuable.  Being that nobody was willing to trade for him.  The RFA deal hasn't shown up yet which means nobody wants to pay the contract that Marco wants.  BG has said that he will match any deal that comes in which has pushed the RFA offer into the 7.02 million range which only a few teams can afford the picks for and even fewer have the money for.  

So, this all means Marco is going to play for Minnesota next season.  At a value that is going to be less than Matt Boldy and closer to 5 million a year.  

I believe the qualifying offer is only for one year.  Which probably means this goes on again next year, and probably the year after as well.  

If you really look at it he is a backup top 6 center.  Is he really worth more than Ek and Boldy?

I would say in a team sport like hockey, many players are needed to help win it, and Rossi will probably not be the main reason they would, but that doesn’t mean he would not be a valuable piece to the puzzle.

I can report some quotes from Marco Rossi he gave in an interview to the biggest Austrian newspaper 1 week ago. After holiday he resumed conditioning training with his personal coach at his home in Austria. "It's really challenging, exactly what I need. I can see the progress. The goal is to train even harder then before. I want to score at least 60 points again and prove myself. I don't even want to know too much about the talks my agent has. I just focus on strengthening".

Tom's title is true if you're merely trading Rossi to trade Rossi. That's not something we should do. However, if you are trading Rossi to get something that you don't have, even packaging him, well, that's not like Calgary or Buffalo. 

Really, what I hope happens out of this is that Rossi gets no offersheets. Shooter has already stated that no real offers through trades came in for Rossi to be dealt. I hope he sees what the rest of the league thinks of him, signs a team-value bridge deal and plays the next 2 years with a serious chip on his shoulder. I hope he blows off steam this summer by bulking up to at least 195 and decides he will play his game and aggressively. 

This is exactly what Shooter wants to see, and so do I and probably most people here. I do not believe that Rossi has earned a high dollar contract yet, and I think we need more data from him to know what he is. Essentially, that is what a bridge deal is, taking someone from and ELC to a long term extension with a higher dollar value. 

Guerin will not have a problem paying the kid if he does this.

Many people have commented that they think Guerin's seat is hot. From every angle, Guerin's last 5 seasons have been a very nice success. He has guided a team to the playoffs despite a $15m handicap in cap spending. He has made this team as profitable as it has ever been. He has restocked the cupboards with a lot of nice young prospects. And, because he chose later in each round, each prospect has needed more time to marinate. He has not traded out the prospects except for the ones he deemed not a fit. 

People will cry about he never built a contender. He never promised us this in any of the past years. People will cry about not being able to get out of the 1st round of the playoffs. Again, he promised to get us there, not to go any further than that. People will cry about not making big trades. With what cap? He's got the space now, but he didn't have it as short a time ago as the TDL. 

I think OCL is plenty pleased to have him as GM. He has delivered on what he said he would do. His next task is to build a contender. He'll have time to do this.
