How about Zona, Wildguy, Tony and Tom state their proposal clearly. You are the GM. Tell the site - what would you do with Rossi. Give us your actual number. What is it?  8 X 8? 10, 11?

And also tell us if Zuccy, Rossi, Kap, Boldy, Ek and Yurov and Tarasenko will scare anyone in the PO?

We'll wait.....

Don't bother trying to explain your position, boss, I already know it.

"I would simply trade Rossi for the biggest, best players in the league."

God damn, it's so simple!!

i think Kap realizes that he needs someone to watch his back. he sees how brutal the POs are and he sees no one that can step in for him. seriously - that has to be major point - he is probably the only one that can get physical but why would you want to ask him to do that? so Billy is working to get him a physical top 6 linemate. that's why it's easier for Sasha to play in FL - with crazy Matthew and even crazier Bennett around. Kap needs that. He doesn't need Rossi.

I never said Kap does or does not need Rossi.  Simply pointing out that Rossi not being signed does not mean Kap does not want him here.   Besides, more than likely Kap plays with Ek and isn’t even on the same line as Rossi.

No.

Tarasenko called Kirill while deciding to waive his no trade clause to go to Minnesota, which means the trade was already in motion. What you're describing would be tampering.

you don't think Kap and Vlady talked about them playing together? everyone does that. yes that's tempering - but NHL is not really enforcing (nor could they) this policy much.

it's very clear that decisions are ran by Kap, if not the entire leadership group - which makes sense. if leaders stated they need Rossi - do you honestly think that Bill will go against that?

"You want to sign Rossi... that means you don't want the team to improve???"

do you think Kap has influence?

do you think Kap is asked of the direction the team is taking?

i do think he is being asked and i do think that he believes the team is imbalanced - with too many soft players occupying top 6 roles.

"It's very clear"

Why? Because the Wild made a trade for a guy they got for free?

they got tarasenko and are paying him 4.5 mil. you know that's 4.5 mil more than free? the guy that was a ghost these last few years but Kap said - YES. and Kap hasn't said a word on Rossi!

tell me this - if Kap tells Bill - i need Rossi - do you think Bill will not sign Rossi?

OK, but without anything but "I think" behind it, you should probably admit that you're writing fan fiction.

Damnit, ODC, I wasn't going to read and respond to you but you've baited me back in!

I'll preface my comments by writing what I wrote months ago; I would have signed Rossi to the Boldy contract (7/7) last season so there wouldn't be any distractions and added stability. I would have committed to the kid, which IMO would have led to a more productive season and less distracting crap.

But you ask what I would do now to clean up Billy's mess. I would let this play out and let the market decide the number. If he gets offer-sheeted I match it and sign him. If he doesn't get an offer sheet I have a conversation with his agent and work out a deal. What's the number attached to the deal? Unlike OCL and GMBG, I don't show my hand. I would remind the agent that there wasn't an offer sheet so other teams are valuing Rossi at probably less than $7M AAV. The dollar amount would be contingent on the terms of the contract (length, movement clauses, etc). Done deal and everyone's happy except for ODC and the Rossi haters.

As far as the second part of your question, we're stuck with Zuccarello this season like it or not, so whether or not he is scary is irrelevant. He's part of the team so figure out how best to use him and take advantage of what he has left to give.

Yurov and Tarasenko are question marks. Yurov is an unknown commodity and Tarasenko was a known commodity in the past but unknown now. Fear the unknown until it becomes known.

Rossi, Kaprizov, Boldy and Ek drive offense, offensive zone possession, and they put the puck in the back of the net. That should be and is a concern to any opposing team that faces any line combination using those four. The biggest problem the Wild have is not the top line, it's the bottom nine.

A better question is: Do Hartman, Johansson, Trenin, Foligno, Sturm, Ohgren, et al scare other teams. My answer to that question is a resounding 'No' and that's where the Wild need to focus more. A one or two line team is easier to defend than a deep three or four line team (just ask Edmonton, especially if the defense and goaltending isn't up to par).

OK, ODC, I took the bait. Run to the toilet, do your business, see what your used bathroom tissue is telling you and respond.

you are so smart Zona, you must have finished all of your puree! good for you!

so you think Rossi Kap and Boldy and Ek are enough to take us over the top? With Kap having entered the prime of his years - you would be ok with just going with wait and see? did you forget (oh why do i ask - of course you did!) that vegas lined up and punished us using physicality in their top 6? The same is true for all the other West contenders!

A one or two line team is easier to defend than a deep three or four line team (just ask Edmonton, especially if the defense and goaltending isn't up to par). did you forget (again) that EDM made it to the finals two years in a row? oh the horror! are you saying our G or D is not up to par? you do know that Gus played amazing and we have still a very solid core with Jiri and Zeev too?

Harty, Foligno, Trenin is what's wrong? Have you not seen the PO? you probably don't remember - so maybe take a break - rewatch the highlights and come back and we can chat! 🍻

  • Rossi has lost the locker room, unlike Tkachuk and Bennett and Dumba
  • He was demoted for his play and looked disinterested at the most important time
  • We are in the driver seat so Rossi will just have to wait his turn

Sometimes I really wonder where you get all this nonsense from

Only thing mildly correct that Rossi s performance at tail end of season was below his own season average .Inclusive playoff .

But only part is down to Rossi . Lets be realistic here Kaprisov and Erikkson Ek played COMBINED only 5 games more then Rossi

WOW! Hard to respond to this one so I'm not going to. You must have needed the plunger to get that wad of paper to flush!

So long, ODC. I won't be taking the bait again.

what would you do with Rossi.

Continue with negotiations for a fair contract with team/player. Probably 3-5 years at around $6.5M. Express to Rossi what his role with the team will be. Let him know everyone wins when he’s successful. Make it clear that the team isn’t caving in to all of his agent’s demands.

Tom, Tony, Luke, Neil and others... I can't imagine how frustrating it must be sometimes putting out great content and reading responsive posts from a few mental midgets. From most of the posts that I read, the vast majority of HW readers are great people that I would enjoy sitting down with and talking hockey over a beer. And then there are a very few of the others.

Please keep on doing what you're doing for the benefit of the many and just shrug off the few.

Thank you!

What is exactly incorrect .Kaprisov played 41 games EEK 46 games

That's according to NHL .And players with injuries are not on the score sheet or are able to give the team points
