I mean, I like Rossi and all, but Kap is the only person to ever hit 100 points.  Maybe wait and see if Boldy does it first before we make jokes.  Besides, if Rossi ever does that, he's got a $15m contract waiting for him here too.

For now, 4x5.5m is probably fine.

Former 6'4" Wild draft pick center Jack McBain signs 5x$4.25M for three years of 26, 26, and 27 points.  He wouldn't sign with the Wild because he wasn't able to crack the line up.  Just shows you've got to let the kids play at some point to get better even if it costs some losses or playoffs, instead of being blocked by the Freddie Gaudreau's and Victor Rask's.

By golly where did Friedman get that scoop from?  What's next, the team that wins is usually the one that scores the most goals?  Rossi doesn't have a contract because they haven't agreed on one yet?

The rumors on Mason McTavish are still on today. 4 teams were linked to him, but the Wild was not one of them. This is a guy the Wild should go after pretty solidly, and then sign him longterm. 

From memory, Evolving Hockey had him a $6.68m for a bunch of years on an extension. I'd give this guy 7 x $7m easily and try to go 8 years. Somewhere, McTavish has got to have Tkachuk blood in his DNA code. 

Who were the teams linked? Philly, Montreal, Calgary, Buffalo. I think the Wild can compete with any of those teams with a trade package, and could immediately have McTavish as their 2nd line center. 

The other possibility is that Shooter has already called and the smoke we see is just a dust storm, and the Ducks have no intension of trading him. To that I propose that Shooter try a little harder and overpay for the man using Rossi as the main piece, but also including some other guys that can help the Ducks. 

To me, McTavish reminds me of a young Ryan Getzlaf, who was a menace to play against. I'm certain that Guerin and Verbeek had an on ice relationship with each other, though, I don't know if that was good or bad. I'm pretty sure that they could work together. They should be on a first name basis at least.

The Jets are having the same issue with Gabe Vilardi, who is flying under the radar. The Wild should offer Rossi and a sweetener as he would solve most issues at center right now. A central division foe, but both teams could resolve issues and feel good about it.

He was blocked by Nico Sturm and Erikkson-Ek (the GREEF line was still a thing at that point), with Ryan Hartman putting up 30+ goals and nearly 70 points playing on the top-line and Rossi clearly going to get a chance in the lineup the following season, and wanted to play in the NHL immediately. 

The Wild thought they could keep Sturm at the time they had to trade off McBain. Which made it sting more when Sturm then wanted a chance to play higher up in the lineup too and got traded as well. 

Just shows that sometimes the kids need to be a little patient and things will open up..
