SkolWild73 Verified Member
Nice article Tony. Looking at our cap space and assuming we sign Rossi at under 7M, we have a little bit of money for another depth center. Since Florida resigned everyone, they have just over 1M to sign 5 players. They are going to have to move someone. Anyone think there is a chance they would move on from Lundell? Of all their players without clauses, he would clear the most cap space, unless they are planning on trading Ekblad since it doesn’t look like he has any clauses. Otherwise, Rodriguez might be available, but he doesn’t clear enough space for them. Edited 16 hours ago by SkolWild73
mnhockeyfan03 Verified Member
I think the Tarasenko trade could be a good one. He’s on a prove it deal this year and has a chance to play with good players. He still has a good shot. I hope tomorrow we sign Kap to a 3x$12-13mm contract. Hopefully not longer and not more money. If he wants to win we need the cap space. Also I hope we go after Kuznetsov, Christian Dvorak and Nico Sturm. All 3 of these guys could be had for under $8mm total together. We will then have center depth. Let Rossi walk and get offer sheet package and then can use those picks to trade for a big fish at trade deadline. These would be our lines if my wish list comes true. Kaprisov Kuznetsov Tarasenko Boldy Ek Yurov Zucc Dvorak Hartman Foligno Sturm Trenin Extras Ohgren and Nojo Middleton Faber Brodin Jiricek Zeev Spurgeon
Quebec1648 Verified Member
Given that this is only a one year deal, I am OK with Guering taking a gamble on Tarasenko. If he has a good year, then you can trade him for something at the deadline, otherwise he is gone after the year is over. The Wild don't need to waste money on on bad deals for aging players or overhyped free agents, so this should hopefully avoid bad free agent deals.
Sam Verified Member
I sure hope he has gas in the tank at 33. I’m 33 and hope has gas in the tank. And no, not that gas…
Citizen Strife Verified Member
The hope I have is Yurov and Ohgren still getting their chances on the team. A high priced free agent like a Boeser or Ehlers is going to lock down a spot no questions asked. Tarasenko "might" just like Mojo did. The moves Guerin made moving Gaudreau off the roster and decreasing Mojo's salary is he wants Yurov to maybe make the team at 3C (as I have said he should). Rossi should be signed at some point to make that even more obvious. Ohgren at 4th line or 13th forward isn't "great, but maybe he finally sticks this season. Maybe one of the rookies is the guy they sign someday to a crazy contract. I checked and it looks like Jiricek's ELC is first. Who knows what this team will be with youth infused at the bottom of all areas. And those first line guys aren't out there...yet. Guerin saw everyone sign elsewhere and played it safe. I'm not happy a 30-pt guy is what the Wild are left with. But 3-4 months of it to wait out other teams is easier than 7-8 years of a potential mistake. If he sucks, so what?

Seems reasonable. 2 1
B1GKappa97 Verified Member
I forsee a Zuccy-Yurov-Tarasenko line. Maybe combined with a Zeev-Spurgy tandem to help move the puck up the ice for those guys. I think we can, at least, expect a better than 30-point season from Tarasenko if he's playing in the top-6? I mean even Marcus Johansson got 30 points...
