Not opposed to Hertl and Ek as our top 2 centers. Yurov learning from them both would be great. Rossi and Yurov learning more from them would be even better.

Could also see Guerin looking at Pageau from the Islanders. Another right handed 40-50 point center, who’s great on the kill (much needed) and at nearly 60% in the face off dot. While not flashy, he only has 1 year left at 5 mil. Would for sure be an upgrade in the bottom 6. Third line of Foligno Pageau Hartman/Ohgren would be nice.

islanders need some youth and fresh blood. How about a Freddy G and David Spacek for Pageau?

I like this trade idea . It seems to be one of the better trade ideas. It’s terrible Billy devalued Rossi. Our top 10 pick , which  we never get . Fred g seems like a good guy. Good on him for taking his opportunities and making a career out of it. Maybe others are right that his reg season ponts get you 2.1 mil. But it doesn’t get you a ntc I’m my opinion.  It also doesn’t get you where you need to go. We don’t need guys that put points up on bad teams in reg season., we need dawgs that come alive in postseason. Fred g represents what’s wrong with wild , continually giving opportunities to guys that don’t deserve,, haven’t earned them or don’t belong ion a team trying to win a round . Fred does what’s asked of him to best of his abilities but it’s not what’s going to get us anywhere. The fact he blocked Rossi and now Rossi stock is devalued is the problem. Then the gm and coach lie about it saying the worst playoff player should play up while Rossi is in dog house over contract negotiations.  Fred g took Rossi s  opportunity and now we’re going to get less value if traded because Fred g playing up lineup was really going to win anything?  Analytics say otherwise.
I’m sick of what Fred g represents. Favoritism to guys that don’t deserve it or help you win a playoff round . Billy won’t criticize him but he’ll give it to his 9 th overall and devalue him. Meanwhile Fred who I believe has no value around league gets to stay and block more of our kids and play a pathetic style of hockey to watch

I thought Hertl was playing wing for Vegas. The faceoffs would suggest he was playing center. If Hertl is the sacrifice, we should be able to get him highly discounted. I wouldn't think we'd need #15, I think we could keep Rossi still.

What if Rossi plays center but Hertl, on his line, takes faceoffs? That seems like it could work. I'd be in favor of acquiring him as long as it didn't cost too much. For instance, when Vegas jettisoned Pacs, Carolina, essentially, got him for free. When Vegas jettisons guys, they don't wait around, nor care too much about the return. They have big game hunting in their sites and Marner is their prize.

We've got cap space, they don't. Let's exploit that fact.

Kind of interesting that I recently read an article on The Athletic that mentioned with the fast rising cap in the NHL that some top tier players may start opting more for 2 year contracts like in the NBA to maximize their earnings. A shorter contract means they can sign a new one with the intention that the cap will increase and teams will be able to sign players to even bigger contracts.

I'm really not down with helping out a conference rival to become better just because they have cash issues.  Didn't see anyone else helping out the Wild for the past few years.  Hertl is old, if Vegas can't sign Mitch Marner because of Hertl being on the roster.  Maybe next time at the trade deadline don't put a star on IR to get him.  Let Vegas burn with their deals they have made.

If I could dream a bit:  Let us trade away Vinnie, Freddy and Zuc.  Replace them with Hertl, Boeser, Ehlers and keep Rossi as the 3rd line center paired with Foligno and Hartman.

I could live with that and say BG did a good job.

How much in debt would they be???? O wait. Another parise/super realization by the next gm.
