Burnt Toast Verified Member
Zeev is another Wild player who has a legitimate shot at a Calder.
Citizen Strife Verified Member
Lane Hutson would be the Wild's season record holder for points clear by ten. Defense be damned, we should be happy if Buium comes anywhere close to that.

I'm hoping that Zeev becomes a much more well rounded defenseman than Hutson. (and Hutson might become one as well) Looking at Calder winners over the past couple years it looks more like a hype machine rather than a real trophy.
Patrick Verified Member
Hynes should have kept Buium in. Merrill ended up playing like absolute trash. I would rather have a few rookie mistakes from a talented rookie than rookie mistakes from a no talent vet. I'm excited for our blue line next year.
mnfaninnc Verified Member
Tony's article here is exactly why Buium needs more strength. Because he will defend. He is a willing defender and wants to stop the rush. This will require more muscle in this league. I also don't want a player who is only around for 1/2 a season. Just that alone is going to require more strength. Zeev hasn't played 82 game seasons + playoffs before. He will need the extra muscle to get through the season.

They gave up a shorthanded goal because they had five forwards on the ice on the Power Play when they pulled Buium off the Power Play. If you look at the stat tracker on that play the five forwards for Minnesota looked like a bunch of clowns nobody knew where to go or what to do. Not saying that if Buium being in there would have prevented that play. But it is much better to have a defenseman do defenseman stuff at the blue line then to have a forward do defenseman stuff.
